Home Logic Laundry CMF

Role: CMF Designer

Color & pattern design under the Home Logic brand for various retail placements, both in-line & seasonal promotions.

Lead CMF Designer for Home Logic laundry products, responsible for overseeing the design process of the brand's core assortment. This includes creating product assortments for retailers, as well as developing exclusive designs for specific retail partners.

The first stage of a design project starts with a competitive audit to understand where the market stands and how we can add to it and differentiate our product. Trend research also adds a very important layer of inspiration to keep home and fashion trends on top of mind as we design.

Designs sold at Target, Walmart, At Home, Meijer, Lowe’s, + more.

Target In-Line Product Color + Pattern Design

Color design for injection molded plastic items, and pattern design on fabric & IML (in mold label) pieces. Patterns were designed both digitally and drawn by hand and turned into a repeat pattern optimized for mass production.

Target Promotional Endcap Designs

Seasonal promotional endcaps designed and sold exclusively at Target. These were some of my favorite projects to work on, because I could push the boundaries with the color choices and have some fun with them. Add a touch of joy + humor to everyday items and bring a smile to consumers faces as they browse the store and eventually take home to incorporate into their daily lives.

The first few rounds of these endcap assortments allowed me to look at how I design differently. I had started to learn calligraphy for fun in my free time and I thought why not incorporate that into my designs? I was really proud of these and excited to see them move forward. To see Target customers share photos of the products on social media was fun too. Very rewarding to take an everyday item and insert some joy and see how it is perceived by customers.

Meijer In-Line & Promotional Endcap

Color + IML (In Mold Label) pattern designs sold at Meijer.

Mixed material promotional endcap at Meijer designed with a cohesive color palette. Creating this collection presented a unique challenge due to the merging of domestically produced plastic items with imported fabric and woven PP products. The key focus was on achieving a cohesive look by harmonizing colors and textures across all pieces. Balancing the various materials while maintaining a unified aesthetic required meticulous attention to detail and thoughtful design decisions. Through careful curation and creative input, the collection successfully brought together these diverse elements to form a cohesive and visually appealing range of products.

Product Features

One of the most fulfilling aspects of being involved in the design of consumer products is witnessing your creations present in various settings. It is so rewarding to spot your designs in retail stores, adorning the homes of friends and family, showcased in magazines, and even featured in television shows or movies. Below are some features where my designs were shown on an episode of Modern Family (Season 5, Episode 21: Sleeper) and a feature on the blog A Beautiful Mess.
